=== Nuggets add pint-sized point guard Boykins === Denver, CO (My Sportsbook) - The Denver Nuggets signed free agent point guard Earl Boykins to a multi-year contract. As per team policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The 5-foot-5 Boykins posted career highs with 8.8 points and 3.3 assists per game last season with the Golden State Warriors. He played in 68 games this past year and accumulated a 3.03:1 assist-to-turnover ratio, good for 10th- best in the league. "Earl is an exciting player," said Nuggets general manager Kiki Vandeweghe. "He can really change the tempo of a game. He played a big part in Golden State's success last season and we're thrilled to have him in a Nuggets uniform." Boykins graduated from Eastern Michigan in 1998 and was not selected in the draft. After a stint in the CBA, Boykins signed as a free agent with the New Jersey Nets in January of 1999. He was released one month later. The 27-year-old Boykins has bounced around the league, playing for Golden State, the Clippers, Cleveland, Orlando and New Jersey during his five-year NBA career. His career averages stand at 5.9 points and 2.5 assists in 194 games. Boykins will back up newly-acquired point guard Andre Miller.
