=== Blue-Gray Classic names executive director === Montgomery, AL (My Sportsbook) - Rick Covington has been named executive director of the Blue-Gray Classic. Covington, a veteran of college athletics administration, joins the Blue-Gray following a two-year stint as the athletics media relations director at Texas Christian University. Covington's publications have been cited 11 times for national awards by the College Sports Information Directors of America, while receiving district honors 16 times for his media guides and game programs. Last year's Blue-Gray Classic, a Christmas Day tradition for 24 years, was canceled. Organizers of the event were not able to line up a corporate sponsor. The 64-year-old contest had been played on Christmas since 1978. The game is expected to be played again this Christmas. |
