Chicago, IL (My Sportsbook) - Abby Wambach and Carli Lloyd each scored twice as the United States Women's National Team rolled to a 6-1 victory over New Zealand in a friendly on Sunday. Kristine Lilly and Lindsay Tarpley also scored for the U.S., which improved to 12-0-2 this year, including 10-0-2 against World Cup qualifiers. "I was pleased with the match. We went after them, played very hard, created a ton of chances, missed a few chances early, but then took care of the rest pretty well," U.S. coach Greg Ryan said. The United States, ranked No. 1 in the world by FIFA, is in Group B at the Cup with Korea, Nigeria and Sweden. New Zealand, which got its lone goal from Rebecca Smith on a penalty kick, won the Oceania Confederation qualifying tournament. New Zealand will be playing in its first Womens World Cup since 1991. It is in Group D with Brazil, China and Denmark. The United States plays Finland on Aug. 25 at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., in its final match before the World Cup. The World Cup is Sept. 10-30 in China.
