Auburn Hills, MI (My Sportsbook) - The Detroit Pistons are close to sending veteran forward Cliff Robinson to the Golden State Warriors for guard Bob Sura, according to a published report. ESPN.com, citing a league source, is reporting that the teams are far enough along in the talks that they have a conference call scheduled with the league for Thursday afternoon The 36-year-old Robinson, who has two years and $10 million remaining on his contract, played in 81 games for Detroit last season and averaged 12.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists. A 14-year veteran, Robinson has also played for Portland and Phoenix. He was originally drafted by the Trail Blazers in the second round (36th pick overall) of the 1989 NBA Draft. Sura, 30, averaged 7.3 points and 3.2 assists in 55 games last season for the Warriors. He was selected out of Florida State by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round (17th pick overall) of the 1995 NBA Draft. It's been a busy week for the Warriors, who teamed up with the Mavericks to complete a nine-player trade on Monday. Dallas sent guards Nick Van Exel and Avery Johnson, center/forward Evan Eschmeyer, and forwards Popeye Jones and Antoine Rigaudeau to Golden State in exchange for forwards Antawn Jamison, Danny Fortson, Chris Mills and guard Jiri Welsch.
