Montreal, QC (My Sportsbook) - Canadian Alex Tagliani captured the pole for Sunday's Molson Indy Montreal Champ Car event. The No.33 Rocketsports driver circled the 2.709-mile course set in the middle of the St.Lawrence river, in one minute, 19.665 seconds (122.418 m.p.h.). Tagliani, who scored his second pole victory of the season, earned one championship point. "I'm glad Paul (Gentilozzi) had the confidence to put me in the car," said Tagliani of the rookie CART owner. "The team has come from a very long way. My guys have had a very unusual season, they had to build equipment and parts from nothing and move into a new building. I think we are creating a very good team." Starting on the front row with Tagliani will be Oriol Servia who won Friday's first qualifying session. Bruno Junqueira (1:19.671) and Michel Jourdain Jr. (1:19.751) will begin from row two. Points leader Paul Tracy will start eighth in the field of 19 drivers. With six races remaining in the 2003 CART championship, Tracy leads Junqueira by 20 points (184-164). The race set to begin on Sunday at 2 p.m. (et).
