Buffalo, NY (My Sportsbook) - The Buffalo Sabres signed restricted free-agent center Chris Drury to a four-year contract Monday. As per club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The 27-year-old Drury played in 80 games for Calgary last season, posting 23 goals and 30 assists. He was traded to Buffalo July 3rd in exchange for center Steve Reinprecht and defenseman Rhett Warrener. "Chris Drury is a top-line, NHL center who has won numerous championships at all levels," Sabres general manager Darcy Regier said in a statement. "He is an excellent playmaker and has been a consistent goal scorer throughout his career." After winning the Hobey Baker Award in 1998 as the top collegiate player while at Boston University, Drury played for the Colorado Avalanche for four seasons. He posted 11 goals and 16 points during Colorado's run to the Stanley Cup championship during 2001. In 394 career games with Colorado and Calgary, Drury has posted 108 goals and 167 assists to go along with 222 penalty minutes.
