Toronto, ON (My Sportsbook) - Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Bryan McCabe was injured during training and will be sidelined indefinitely. McCabe suffered a knee injury and will undergo conservative therapy while being evaluated on a week-to-week basis. He just recently signed a one-year, $3.2 million contract with the club. The 28-year-old registered 24 points (six goals, 18 assists) with 135 penalty minutes in 75 games for the Maple Leafs last year. In 633 career NHL games, McCabe has collected 60 goals and 157 assists with 1,176 penalty minutes. During the 2001-02 season the Ontario native set career highs with 17 goals and 26 assists, tying him for second among NHL defenseman in goals and ranking him 13th in points. McCabe has played for the New York Islanders, Vancouver Canucks and Chicago Blackhawks, in addition to Toronto, during his eight NHL seasons.
