Miami, FL (My Sportsbook) - The Miami Heat signed free agent guard Rafer Alston on Thursday. Terms of the contract were not released. The 27-year-old Alston played in 47 games for the Toronto Raptors last season. He averaged 7.8 points, 2.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game. Alston, who will be entering his fifth NBA season in 2003-04, played his first three seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks. The New York City native has shot 36.3 percent from beyond the arc for his career. Originally drafted 39th overall by Milwaukee in the 1998 NBA Draft, Alston, who attended Fresno State, holds career averages of 4.2 points, 1.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 13.8 minutes per game throughout four-year stint in the NBA.
