Toronto, Ontario (My Sportsbook) - Veteran forward Doug Gilmour announced his retirement Monday after 20 seasons in the NHL. The 40-year-old Gilmour, who was traded from Montreal to Toronto at the trade deadline last season, had 11 goals and 19 assists in 62 games for the Canadiens and Maple Leafs during 2002-03. During his career, Gilmour also played for the St. Louis Blues, Calgary Flames, New Jersey Devils, Chicago Blackhawks and Buffalo Sabres. In 1,474-career games, Gilmour recorded 450 goals and 964 assists. While playing for Toronto in 1992-93, he registered a career-best 127 points (32 goals, 95 assists). He also played in 182 postseason contests, scoring 60 goals and assisting on 127 others. Gilmour owns one Stanley Cup ring, as he was a member of the 1988-89 Flames, who defeated Montreal in six games. Gilmour was originally drafted by St. Louis in the seventh round (134th overall) of the 1982 NHL Entry Draft.
