El Segundo, CA (My Sportsbook) - Los Angeles Kings center Jared Aulin underwent successful left shoulder surgery on Wednesday and is expected to be sidelined for four-to-six months. Aulin, 21, injured the shoulder during an exhibition game against Anaheim on September 4. The contest was part of the 2003 Kings Rookie Tournament in El Segundo. Aulin made his NHL debut last season, playing in 17 games and recording two goals and two assists. He began the 2002-03 season with the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League and recorded 12 goals and 32 assists in 42 games. He was originally selected by the Colorado Avalanche in the second-round (47th overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. Aulin was acquired by the Kings from Colorado along with Adam Deadmarsh, Aaron Miller, a first-round choice (David Steckel) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft and a first-round choice (Brian Boyle) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft for Rob Blake and Steven Reinprecht on February 21, 2001.
