Calgary, AB (My Sportsbook) - The Calgary Flames Friday signed defenseman Rhett Warrener. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. Warrener was acquired from Buffalo in July along with center Steve Reinprecht in exchange for forward Chris Drury. The 27-year-old Warrener had nine assists in 50 games last season for the Sabres, averaging 18 minutes of ice time per contest. In 483 career NHL games, Warrener has recorded 69 points (13 goals, 56 assists). He was the Florida Panthers' second choice, 27th overall, in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft.
