Sacramento, CA (My Sportsbook) - Sacramento Kings star Chris Webber missed Thursday's Western-Conference showdown with the Portland Trail Blazers because of a lower abdominal strain. The All-Star forward complained of discomfort during the team's morning shoot-around. Team doctors discovered strained muscles and Webber is slated for an ultrasound exam on Friday. Webber is expected to make the Kings' four-game road trip that begins on Saturday against the Memphis Grizzlies. He played just 54 games last season, missing the first 20 with a sprained ankle while also dealing with various finger injuries and illnesses. He had nine points and 14 rebounds in the Kings' season-opening win over Cleveland on Tuesday night. Sacramento is already without Mike Bibby, who will be out for a month while recovering from his broken foot. Doug Christie is also serving the second game of his two-game suspension for a preseason fight with the Lakers' Rick Fox.
