Miami, FL (My Sportsbook) - After Friday's long weather delay, the Miccosukee Championship has been trying to play catch-up ever since.

Saturday saw players complete the second round, but the third round was barely underway for the leaders when play was halted by darkness.

The third round was suspended for the night at 6:43 p.m. (et) Saturday and will resume Sunday at 8:00 a.m. Players will not re-pair for the final round, which officials hope to start at 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

With the wet conditions at Miccosukee Golf & Country Club, players are using lift, clean and place rules.

Marc Turnesa polished off an eight-under 63 in the second round to grab a four-stroke lead through 36 holes.

Turnesa was paired with Jon Mills and Jon Turcott, who are both at minus- eight, in the final group. Those three had hit their tee shots off the first tee before play was stopped for the night.

"Patience is definitely needed when the weather plays as big of a factor as it has this week," Turnesa stated. "I played the Gateway Tour down here for five years, so I'm certainly used to the weather delays. The key to tomorrow will be getting off to a good start. If you have to play 36 holes, you really want a good start to be able to carry that momentum with you the rest of the day."

Turcott shot 66, while Mills posted a 67 in the second round. Andrew Johnson is also at minus-eight as he fired a 65 in round two. He parred the first before play stopped for the night.

Dustin Bray, Fabian Gomez, Kelly Grunewald, Daniel Summerhays and Roland Thatcher are tied for fifth place at seven-under par. All five players have completed one hole of the third round.
