Atlanta, GA (My Sportsbook) - The Atlanta Thrashers have acquired goaltender Jani Hurme from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2004 Entry Draft. The Hurricanes had selected Hurme from Florida in the NHL Waiver Draft earlier on Friday. Hurme posted a record of 4-11-6 with a 2.88 goals-against average and one shutout for the Panthers last season. He has a 29-25-11 mark with a 2.61 GAA and six shutouts in 76 NHL games with Ottawa and Florida. The 28-year-old native of Finland began his career with the Senators before being traded to Florida prior to last season. The Thrashers also selected left wing Serge Aubin from Colorado, as well as left wing Ronald Petrovicky and defenseman Shawn Heins from the New York Rangers in the Waiver Draft.
