Raleigh, NC (My Sportsbook) - The Carolina Hurricanes announced Friday that the team has acquired left wing Jan Hlavac and center Harold Druken from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for defenseman Marek Malik and left wing Darren Langdon. Hlavac is currently in his fourth NHL season and has tallied 139 points (64g, 75a) in 232 career games with Vancouver, Philadelphia and the New York Rangers. He collected 31 points (16g, 15a) in 77 games last season with the Flyers and Canucks. This year for Vancouver, the 26-year-old Hlavac had two points in nine games. Druken is also in his fourth NHL season. He notched 56 points (27g, 29a) in 118 career games with Vancouver, including two in three games this season. Langdon has gone scoreless in nine contests this year. He played 58 contests for Carolina last season and led the Hurricanes with 106 penalty minutes. In 398 NHL games over nine seasons, Langdon has 16 goals, 18 assists and 951 penalty minutes. Malik recorded two assists in 10 games for the Hurricanes this year and has 77 points (17g, 60a) in 317 career NHL contests.
