=== Suns sign free-agent center === Phoenix, AZ (My Sportsbook) - The Phoenix Suns signed center Dejan Koturovic to a free-agent contract Wednesday. The seven-foot European will add depth to their center rotation. Koturovic, 31, will help the Suns deal with the loss of Zarko Cabarkapa, their top pick in this year's draft, who underwent hernia surgery. The two roomed together on the Yugoslavian National Team that captured gold at the 2002 World Championships. During the tournament in Indianapolis, Koturovic averaged 12.8 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.1 blocks. In 13 professional seasons, Koturovic has played on teams in Yugoslavia, France, Turkey, Germany and Italy. Last year, with Virtus Pallacanestro Bologna, he averaged 10.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks. Phoenix also released William Pippen and Trevor Huffman on Wednesday to trim their roster to 18. |
