Oakland, CA (My Sportsbook) - Golden State Warriors power forward Troy Murphy will begin the season on the injured list after suffering a plantar fascia tear in his right foot. He was originally expected to miss the first three regular-season games with the injury. The former Notre Dame standout is in his third year with Golden State. Murphy averaged 11.7 points and 10.2 rebounds through 79 games last season. Guard Pepe Sanchez (sprained left ankle) and center Evan Eschmeyer (knee surgery) have also been placed on the injured list. The Warriors also waived center Zendon Hamilton and forward George McCloud.
