Milwaukee, WI (My Sportsbook) - Former Toronto Blue Jays general manager Gord Ash has joined the Milwaukee Brewers as an assistant to new GM Doug Melvin. Ash, 50, was fired by the Blue Jays in October of 2001 after serving as the team's GM since the 1994 campaign. Melvin, a former general manager of the Texas Rangers, replaced Dean Taylor as the Brewers' GM in late September. The Brewers had their 10th straight losing season in 2002, while also compiling the worst record in the National League as well as the worst in franchise history. |
