New York, NY (My Sportsbook) - Dallas Stars right wing Bill Guerin was named the National Hockey League's Offensive Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, November 2, while Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Robert Esche garnered defensive honors. Guerin recorded a pair of hat tricks in three games and led all scorers for the week with seven points. He tallied three goals in the Stars' 4-3 overtime victory against Calgary on October 29 and then notched his fifth-career hat trick during a 7-3 triumph over Nashville on Sunday. Esche compiled a 3-0-0 record last week with a 0.67 goals-against average. He turned aside all 20 shots he faced in the Flyers' 5-0 win over Montreal on October 27. It marked his first shutout of the season and the sixth of his career. Esche then made 21 saves in a 5-1 victory over Florida on October 29 and again stopped 21 shots in a 7-1 win at Toronto on Saturday. Carolina Hurricanes center Josef Vasicek and San Jose Sharks defenseman Scott Hannan were runners-up for the offensive and defensive honors, respectively.
