Los Angeles, CA (My Sportsbook) - The Los Angeles Kings simply cannot get healthy, as their mounting injury woes continued Tuesday when the club placed forward Derek Armstrong on the injured reserve list. Armstrong could miss up to two months of action with a broken finger on his left hand. The Kings, who were decimated with injuries to many of their top players last season, are currently playing without the services of forwards Jason Allison and Jozef Stumpel. The 30-year-old Armstrong, who suffered the injury near the conclusion of Saturday's contest versus St. Louis, has tallied six goals and four assists in 16 contests this season for Los Angeles. A veteran who has played in parts of nine NHL seasons with the New York Islanders, New York Rangers, Ottawa Senators, and the Kings, Armstrong broke out with 12 goals and 26 assists in 66 contests for LA last season. In 168 career contests, the native of Ottawa has totaled 27 goals and 40 assists. Meanwhile, the club also assigned defenseman Maxim Kuznetsov to Manchester of the AHL.
