Detroit, MI (My Sportsbook) - The
Dallas Stars will try to halt a two-game losing streak on Sunday when they travel to Detroit to battle the Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena.
After falling to the Florida Panthers in overtime on Wednesday, the Stars were dealt a 4-2 setback at the hands of the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday.
Rob DiMaio and Kirk Muller each scored for Dallas. Ron Tugnutt made 24 saves for the Stars, who fell for just the second time in their last six games (3-1-1-1).
Marty Turco, who has posted a 1.97 goals-against-average and a .923 save percentage in his first full season as a starter, will be back between the pipes for Dallas tonight.
Defenseman Sergei Zubov assisted on DiMaio's score and has now recorded a point in eight straight games, tying his career high, set in March 1994 with the New York Rangers.
The Stars were 0-for-7 on the power play on Friday and are a miserable 4- for-37 with the extra skater this season.
Muller is still three assists short of 600 for his career.
The defending Stanley Cup champions enter Sunday's tilt on the heels of a 5-2 loss to the Ottawa Senators on Saturday. The five goals allowed were a season- high.
Brett Hull finished with a goal and an assist for the Red Wings, who have lost two of their last three. Henrik Zetterberg provided the other Detroit goal and Curtis Joseph turned aside 29 shots in the loss.
Hull's power-play goal opened the scoring and gave Detroit a 1-0 lead 5:41 into the first period. Igor Larionov sent a cross-ice pass to the left circle, where Hull one-timed the puck past Ottawa netminder Patrick Lalime.
However, the Senators scored three unanswered goals to take a 3-1 lead and never looked back.
Zetterberg's tally came short-handed and was the Red Wings' league-leading sixth score of the season when down a man.
Sergei Fedorov, the 1994-95 Hart Trophy winner, was held off the scoresheet in Saturday's rout, but leads Detroit in scoring and has six goals in his last five games.
The road-team in this series has won 12 of the last 15 matchups. However, the Red Wings have taken five of the last seven, six of the last nine and seven of the last 11.
Dallas has lost two of its last three in Detroit, but is 6-2-1 in its last nine in the Motor City.
