Roberto Luongo turned aside 36-of-37 shots in the victory. The Panthers have won two straight and improved to 4-4 under new head coach Rick Dudley. Florida notched its first back-to-back wins since taking three in a row from February 18-22 of last season. The victory also marked the first time the Panthers have followed up a road win with a home victory since March 25, 2001. Mathieu Biron also scored for Florida in the win,which marked the first time a brother scored against his brother since Phil Esposito of the Rangers beat Tony Esposito of Chicago on November 5, 1980. Martin Biron was in net for Buffalo on Monday. Weiss has 10 points in 10 games since being recalled from San Antonio of the AHL. Florida, which is 4-6-1 in Sunrise, will close out a two-game homestand on Wednesday against the New York Rangers. |
