Chicago, IL (My Sportsbook) - After having their four-game unbeaten streak stopped at the hands of the
New Jersey Devils on Saturday, the Chicago Blackhawks will try to get back on track at the United Center when they welcome the
Edmonton Oilers to town.
The Devils scored three times in the opening stanza and never looked back on their way to a 5-1 win.
Steve Passmore spelled usual starter Jocelyn Thibault and made 36 saves for the Blackhawks, who had their three-game winning streak come to an end. Lyle Odelein scored the lone goal for Chicago.
Thibault will be back in net for Chicago in Sunday's contest.
Tonight will also be the home debut of Andrei Nikolishin and Chris Simon, who were both acquired Friday from the Washington Capitals in exchange for veteran Michael Nylander. Both played in Saturday's loss and were a combined minus- four.
On the milestone watch, Steve Thomas remains two goals short of 400 for his career.
Edmonton enters Sunday's tilt on a two-game winless string (0-1-1) after tying the Buffalo Sabres on Friday.
Janne Niinimaa scored in the second period for the Oilers, while Tommy Salo made 32 saves in the deadlock at Skyreach Centre.
The Oilers had a great chance to win the game with less than 20 seconds left in overtime when Mike Comrie raced into the Buffalo zone on a breakaway, but Buffalo netminder Mika Noronen stacked his pads to make the game-saving stop.
Niinimaa extended his point streak to five games and has two goals and four assists in that span.
The Blackhawks have won two straight from Edmonton, but are just 2-5-2 in the last nine meetings. However the Oilers are winless in their last three (0-2-1) in Chicago.
