Los Angeles, CA (My Sportsbook) - The Los Angeles Kings Wednesday placed right wing Ziggy Palffy on injured reserve with a facial injury. The move is retroactive to Sunday, November 23. Palffy sustained the injury in Saturday's 2-0 victory at Colorado. He was sitting on the bench and was struck in the face with a puck during the third period. The 31-year-old Palffy is the team's leading scorer this year with six goals and 20 assists. Palffy is also tied with Colorado's Alex Tanguay for the league lead in assists. Palffy joins a long list of teammates already on the injured list. Jason Allison, Adam Deadmarsh, Jozef Stumpel, Derek Armstrong, Jared Aulin and Brad Norton are already sidelined with various injuries. The Skalica, Slovakia native has 656 career points (308 goals,348 assists) in 626 career NHL regular season games with the Kings and the New York Islanders. To make room on the roster, Los Angeles recalled center Steve Kelly from Manchester of the American Hockey League.
