Ponte Vedra Beach, FL (My Sportsbook) - Nick Flanagan was named Nationwide Tour Player of the Year in an announcement by PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem on Tuesday. The Australian became the first international player to win Nationwide Tour Player of the Year honors, an award voted on by his fellow competitors. Flanagan won three times in 17 starts to earn an automatic promotion to the PGA Tour. Flanagan, despite playing on the PGA Tour in the "Fall Finish," came in third on the Nationwide Tour money list. Richard Johnson and Roland Thatcher, a pair of two-time winners in 2007, were also on the ballot.
