Orlando, FL (My Sportsbook) - Charges against New Orleans Hornets guard Darrell Armstrong for allegedly slapping the hand of a policewoman on July 7 have been dismissed. Armstrong was arrested and charged with battery on a law-enforcement officer and resisting arrest without violence. A judge dismissed the charges on Tuesday, the second day of the trial. Judge Bob Wattles ruled that prosecutors could not prove that Armstrong intended to strike the officer when he pushed her hand away. Armstrong played nine seasons with the Orlando Magic before signing with the Hornets during the offseason. He had faced probation to a maximum of five years in prison if he had been convicted.
