Minneapolis, MN (My Sportsbook) - Minnesota placed center Michael Olowokandi on the injured list, and signed free agent Oliver Miller on Saturday. Olowokandi had surgery on his right knee Friday and is expected to miss six- to-eight weeks. The 7-foot-1 Olowokandi, who signed with the Timberwolves as a free agent in the offseason after spending five seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers, has already missed three games after the original diagnosis was tendinitis. The first overall pick in 1998, Olowokandi was averaging 6.4 points and 3.7 rebounds in 15 games this season. Miller, a 6-foot-9 center, has averaged 7.9 points and 6.2 rebounds in 445 games in eight seasons played with Phoenix, Detroit, Toronto, Dallas and Sacramento. The Suns selected him in the first round (22nd pick) of the 1992 NBA Draft from the University of Arkansas.
