Orlando Magic Team Report - December 18 ===
(My Sportsbook) - Tracy McGrady finished with 21 points, 11 assists and six rebounds to lead the Orlando Magic to a surprising 94-90 win over the top team in the East, the Indiana Pacers, on Wednesday at Conseco Fieldhouse.
Juwan Howard collected 19 points and seven rebounds, while Drew Gooden had 18 points and 10 boards. Keith Bogans had 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Magic, who are 4-2 since opening the season 1-19.
Tied at 83 apiece, Orlando scored five straight points to take an 88-83 lead with four minutes to play. Reggie Miller responded with a three-pointer, however, sending the Pacers off on a 7-1 run. The spurt was capped by an Artest hanging jumper in the lane with 2:08 remaining, giving the Pacers the lead at 90-89.
Neither team would score again until Rod Strickland hit a driving jumper from the left elbow with 14.4 seconds to play, putting the Magic up by one. Al Harrington had the chance to put the Pacers ahead with a 16-foot jumper from the left side, but he left the uncontested shot short with seven seconds left.
Bogans got the rebound and was fouled. He made the first free throw, making it 92-90, but missed the second. Gooden, however, secured the rebound, was fouled, and made both from the charity stripe to account for the final score.
The Magic, who improved to 4-9 on the road this season, will return to the court on Friday against the Golden State Warriors at TD Waterhouse Centre.
