Philadelphia, PA (My Sportsbook) - The
Orlando Magic try to win their season-best fourth game in a row tonight when they visit Atlantic Division rival Philadelphia at the Wachovia Center.
On Sunday, Tracy McGrady scored 29 points and Juwan Howard added 20 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Magic to a 104-93 win over the Toronto Raptors at the Air Canada Centre. Drew Gooden finished with 14 points and 14 rebounds in game-high 40 minutes off the bench for the Magic.
Orlando led 78-71 going into the fourth quarter and took an 82-71 advantage on a Tyronn Lue jumper with 10:44 left to play.
Toronto trimmed the lead to just four at 86-82 on a nifty offensive rebound and putback by Chris Bosh with 8:47 remaining. Moments earlier, Bosh made an emphatic block of an Andrew DeClercq layup attempt to send the home crowd into a frenzy.
But the Magic went up by nine at 91-82 on a three-pointer by McGrady with 3:44 left to play.
The Raptors pulled to within six at 95-89 on a three-pointer by Jalen Rose with 1:19 remaining, but a tip-in by Rod Strickland and a pair of free throws by Howard gave Orlando a comfortable 99-89 cushion with 36 seconds left to play.
Strickland wound up with 14 points, eight assists and six rebounds, while Lue finished with 10 points. The Magic shot 47 percent (43-of-92) from the field, but just 2-of-12 from three-point range.
Gooden and Lue combined for 24 of Orlando's 30 bench points, while Toronto's reserves scored just nine points.
The Magic are 2-12 on the road this season.
Philadelphia lost its second straight game on Sunday, falling to the Boston Celtics, 87-84, at the FleetCenter.
Aaron McKie scored a season-high 24 points for the Sixers, who played for the fourth straight game without All-Star Allen Iverson as the guard continues to be sidelined with a knee injury. Philadelphia is 1-3 since Iverson left the lineup and is 3-3 overall this season without "The Answer." The dynamic guard is expected to miss tonight's game as well.
Kyle Korver contributed a career-high 18 points and made 5-of-5 three-point attempts in the loss to Boston.
The Sixers are 7-7 at home this season.
In 2002-03, the teams split four games as each club won once on its homecourt and once on the road.
Overall, the 76ers have won two straight over the Magic, who has won eight of 13 and 10 of their last 16 at Philadelphia.
