San Antonio, TX (My Sportsbook) - San Antonio Spurs guard Speedy Claxton has been placed on the injured list with a dislocated right shoulder, and is scheduled to miss eight-to-12 weeks. The Spurs replaced Claxton by signing guard Devin Brown. Surgery is required to repair a torn labrum in Claxton's shoulder, but a date for the procedure has not been set. Claxton, who was acquired in a trade with Philadelphia, is averaging 7.7 points and 3.3 assists in three games this season. He was injured in the fourth quarter of Friday's game against Toronto. In 67 games last season, Claxton averaged 7.2 points, 3.0 assists and 1.4 steals as a rookie with the 76ers. Drafted by Philadelphia with the 20th overall selection in the 2000 NBA Draft, the 5-foot-11, 166-pounder missed the entire 2000-01 campaign after tearing his left anterior cruciate ligament during the preseason. Claxton has also had surgery on his left shoulder in his short career. Brown appeared in six preseason games for the Spurs and averaged 5.8 points before being placed on waivers on October 23.
