The shorthanded tally by Palffy was his third of the season and 19th of his career. The Kings' overtime record now stands at 1-3-5. Los Angeles and San Jose remain in a tie for the top spot with 40 points in the Pacific Division. Kings left winger Kip Brennan began serving a 10-game suspension for returning to the ice after being ordered to the dressing room following a fight with less than two minutes left in Friday night's loss.
