Sunrise, FL (My Sportsbook) - The Florida Panthers suspended veteran forward Chad Kilger indefinitely on Wednesday for failing to report to the team. Kilger was acquired last Tuesday in a trade-deadline deal from the Toronto Maple Leafs, but a day later met with Panthers general manager and head coach Jacques Martin to request a leave-of-absence from the team for personal reasons. He immediately flew back to Toronto, but has not contacted the club since. Prior to the deal, Kilger posted 10 goals and 17 points in 53 games for the Maple Leafs. The 31-year-old Ontario native and fourth-overall pick of Anaheim in 1995 has compiled 107 goals and 218 points in 714 NHL games over 12 seasons with the Ducks, Jets/Coyotes, Blackhawks, Oilers, Canadiens and Leafs.
