New Orleans Hornets try to rebound from a loss when they play the second of a four-game road trip this afternoon against Paul Pierce and the
Boston Celtics at the FleetCenter.
The Hornets were defeated by Central Division rival Detroit, 108-99, on Monday at The Palace.
David Wesley paced the Hornets with 22 points. Baron Davis added 19 points and nine assists for New Orleans, which has dropped four of its last six overall. Jamaal Magloire chipped in 16 points in the loss.
New Orleans, which has lost four straight on the road, is 9-8 as the visitor this season.
Boston returns home tonight after going 2-2 on a road trip.
On Monday, Pierce finished with 21 points, seven rebounds and six assists to lead the Celtics over the Golden State Warriors, 100-91, at The Arena.
Walter McCarty added 16 points with a 4-for-6 performance from three-point territory, as the Celtics won for the third time in five games. Jiri Welsch chipped in with 15 points, eight boards and three assists.
The Celtics are 8-8 at home this season.
In 2003-04, New Orleans won both games against the Celtics.
Overall, the Hornets have won three of the last four contests against the Celtics. These two teams have split the last six meetings. The Hornets have won five of their last seven at Boston.
