=== Dallas Stars Team Report - January 3 === (My Sportsbook) - A night after having a six-game unbeaten streak halted by a blowout loss, the Dallas Stars hope to bounce back when they visit the slumping Los Angeles Kings at Staples Center. Dallas suffered a 6-0 setback to visiting Phoenix to close out a three-game road trip on Friday. Brian Boucher made 35 saves on his 27th birthday to stymie the Stars, who were blanked for the eighth time this season. The Stars, who registered 18 futile shots on goal in the third period, received a poor performance from goaltender Ron Tugnutt, who was pulled in the first period after allowing two goals on seven shots. Marty Turco relieved him and made a mere 15 saves the rest of the way. The sub-par showing by the Stars even rubbed off on special teams, where they allowed a power-play goal after killing off 41 straight man-advantages. There was also bad news on the health front, as captain Mike Modano left the match with an ankle injury. His status for tonight is unknown. Dallas, which has won three straight on the road, will visit Anaheim on Monday.
