Denver Nuggets are in a battle with the
Golden State Warriors for the eighth and final playoff berth in the Western Conference playoff race. Denver (46-31) will play three of its final regular-season games on the road.
Golden State will host the Nuggets on Thursday at ORACLE Arena. Denver is 2-1 against the Warriors this season, and defeated Golden State, 124-120, on December 24 at ORACLE Arena.
The Warriors (46-31) will play four of their final five games at home. They will host Sacramento, Denver, the Clippers and Seattle. Golden State will visit Phoenix for its final road contest of the regular season.
Denver attempts to halt a two-game losing streak when it visits the Clippers on Tuesday at the Staples Center. The Nuggets have won two in a row and are 2-1 against the Clippers this season. Denver, which has dropped four of its last five at the Clippers, has won four of the last five contests in the series.
The Nuggets play the second of a four-game road trip against the Clippers. Rookie Kevin Durant poured in a career-high 37 points, hitting a pair of three-pointers that forced two different overtime periods, and the Seattle SuperSonics defeated the Nuggets, 151-147, in a double-overtime marathon on Sunday at KeyArena.
Carmelo Anthony had 38 points and 11 rebounds against Seattle, just one night after exploding for 47 points in a loss to Sacramento. Allen Iverson totaled 26 points and 13 assists, while Kenyon Martin ended with 22 points and nine rebounds.
The Nuggets are just 15-23 on the road this season. They have lost two straight as the visitor. Denver will visit Utah on April 12 and will close out the regular season at home against the Rockets and Grizzlies.
Iverson leads the Nuggets in scoring (26.3 ppg) and assists (7.2 apg), while Marcus Camby, who is averaging 9.3 points per game, has pulled down a team- best 13.3 rebounds per game.
Camby is averaging 8.4 points and 10.4 rebounds in his last 10 outings. He has collected two double-doubles during that span, and has posted double-digits in rebounds in seven of the contests.
Denver has scored over 100 points in 18 straight games, and has allowed its opponent to reach the century mark in 18 of its last 20 contests.
