New Orleans, LA (My Sportsbook) - New Orleans Hornets starting guard Baron Davis missed Wednesday's 92-86 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. The 24-year-old Davis suffered a sprained left ankle during the fourth quarter of Monday's loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Before leaving the contest with the injury, Davis scored 25 points and dished out five assists. Davis has played in 41 games for the Hornets this season. He leads the team in scoring (24.3 ppg), assists (8.0 apg) and steals (2.46 spg). The UCLA product is also averaging 4.2 rebounds per game. The Hornets played with the league minimum eight players on Wednesday. New Orleans also played without rookie forward David West, who missed his fifth consecutive game with a sore knee. Center Sean Rooks also was unable to play because of an ankle injury, although he was in uniform. Forward Jamal Mashburn (knee) and guards David Wesley (toe) and Courtney Alexander (Achilles) are on the injured list.
