Philadelphia, PA (My Sportsbook) - Philadelphia 76ers center Todd MacCulloch had surgery on his left foot due to a possible career-ending neurological disorder the team announced Saturday. The surgery, which was roughly two-hours was performed on Thursday in Baltimore. MacCulloch may have to undergo the same procedure, which is called tarsel tunnel release surgery. The reason that another surgery would be necessary is if there is improvement with his left foot. MacCulloch, 27 has not played basketball for nearly a year. He shows signs of Charcot-Marie Tooth disease a genetic disorder that disrupts balance and causes problems with hands and feet. The Sixers placed him on the injured list for the entire season. In his career, he has averaged 6.1 points per game with 4 rebounds a contest for Philadelphia and the New Jersey Nets. MacCulloch, who played collegiately at Washington, was drafted by the Sixers back in 1999. |
