Los Angeles Clippers go for their third straight win tonight as they visit Paul Pierce and the struggling
Boston Celtics at the FleetCenter.
The Clippers play the fourth contest of their season-high nine-game road trip. LA is 2-1 on the road swing.
On Monday, Elton Brand finished with 22 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Clippers to a 101-95 win over the Atlanta Hawks at Philips Arena. Marko Jaric posted 20 points and Chris Wilcox added 18 for the Clippers, who snapped an eight-game losing streak in Atlanta and swept the season series between the teams. Quentin Richardson posted 14 points and 12 rebounds in the victory.
Brand has been playing extremely well as of late. He has scored 20 or more points in four straight games and has played over 40 minutes in eight straight. Over his last four games, the Duke product is averaging 21.5 points and 11.5 rebounds.
LA is 6-14 on the road this season.
The Celtics come into tonight's game on a four-game losing streak. On Saturday, Boston lost to the Indiana Pacers, 99-98, at Conseco Fieldhouse.
Pierce netted 24 points in Saturday's loss for the Celtics, who are 0-3 under interim head coach John Carroll. Pierce has scored in double digits in eight straight contests.
On Tuesday, Pierce was named to the Eastern Conference All-Star squad as a reserve.
Boston, which has lost two straight and four of its last five at home, are 11-15 as the host this season.
Last season, the Celtics swept both meetings with the Clippers. Overall, The Celtics have won seven straight and 10 of the last 11 contests with the Clippers, who have lost six in a row and 10 of their last 13 at Boston.
