=== Philadelphia 76ers Team Report - February 8 === (My Sportsbook) - Philly's roller-coaster ride took a downhill turn Saturday night, as the Sixers dropped an ugly 110-80 decision to the Boston Celtics at the Wachovia Center. The 30-point deficit was the largest of the season for the Sixers. Glenn Robinson scored 19 points for the Sixers, who lost for the 10th time in their last 13 outings. Allen Iverson netted 15 points, shooting just 5-of-20 from the field in the defeat. Iverson passed Charles Barkley for fourth place on the Sixers' all-time scoring list. He hit two free throws with less than three minutes to play in the third to accomplish the feat with his 14,184th and 14,185th point. Philadelphia committed a season-high 25 turnovers and allowed a season-high 59 points in the first half. The Sixers are currently on the outside of the Eastern Conference playoff race -- 1 1/2 games back of eighth place Boston. Philly gets another chance to prove itself Sunday night, when it battles the New Jersey Nets at Continental Airlines Arena. Philadelphia has lost three straight and five of its last seven road tilts to fall to 9-16 in foreign gyms for the season. The Sixers are 0-5 this season on Sundays. |
