Indianapolis, IN (My Sportsbook) -
Indianapolis Colts running backs Edgerrin James and Ricky Williams will likely miss Sunday's game against Philadelphia because of hamstring injuries.
James is officially listed as doubtful on the team's injury report, while Williams is questionable. After Wednesday's practice, head coach Tony Dungy said he doesn't expect either to play against the Eagles.
James, who leads the Colts with 523 rushing yards, was injured in an October 27 game against Washington and missed last week's contest against Tennessee. Williams, meanwhile, was slated to start against the Titans, but strained his hamstring on practice Friday and was unable to play Sunday.
Rookie James Mungro led the Colts with 60 yards on 16 carries against the Titans and will get the start Sunday against the Eagles. The former Syracuse standout is also a bit banged up, listed as probable with a shoulder injury.
The Colts added some depth on Wednesday with the signing of former Notre Dame star Autry Denson.
"I couldn't tell you what my role is going to be -- if I'm going to have a role this weekend," said Denson. "I couldn't tell you. My job is to just take as much information as I can, get as much in as I can and just go out and perform if I'm called on."
Denson was a seventh-round draft choice of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1999, but was released and spent the '99 and 2000 seasons with the Miami Dolphins. He was with Chicago last year and was released by Cleveland just before this season.
Defensive end Dwight Freeney, Indianapolis' first-round pick this year, will get his first start of the season on Sunday. The former Syracuse star, a pass rushing specialist thus far, leads the Colts with four sacks.
