St. Louis Blues will try and match a franchise record with their 10th straight win tonight when they host the Columbus Blue Jackets in the opener of a two-game set at the Savvis Center.
St. Louis, which is unbeaten in its last 10 (9-0-1) and has not suffered a loss since falling to Anaheim on opening night, is coming off a 5-2 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday.
Pavol Demitra scored the eventual game-winning goal and added a pair of assists to lead the Blues to the come-from-behind win. Eric Boguniecki lit the lamp twice and added an assist for St. Louis, which scored four unanswered goals to gain control of the contest.
The Blues also moved to 6-0-0 when they allow the game's first goal.
Doug Weight scored the 200th goal of his career and added an assist and has 16 points (5g, 11a) in his last eight games.
Martin Rucinsky scored his third goal in as many games since joining St. Louis and has recorded a point in nine of his last 10 games (6g, 8a), dating back to his time with the New York Rangers last season.
Fred Brathwaite faced just 15 shots in net, but improved to 5-1-1 this season and established a career-high with his fifth straight win.
The nine straight wins marks the longest winning streak since the team took a franchise-record 10 straight in January of last year. St. Louis has gone 12 consecutive games without a loss twice, most recently from November 24 - December 26, 2000 (11-0-1).
Columbus, which is at .500 at the latest point of the season in franchise history, enters Thursday's tilt on the heels of a 4-3 overtime loss to the Washington Capitals on Tuesday.
Geoff Sanderson and Ray Whitney each had a goal and an assist for Columbus, which saw its two-game win streak come to an end. Tyler Wright also scored and Marc Denis turned aside 33 shots, including 13 in the first period, for the Blue Jackets, who fell to 5-5-1-1 on the season.
The Bruins have won four straight from the Blue Jackets and are 5-1-1 in the last seven meetings.
Columbus has never won in St. Louis and is 0-5-1 all-time.
