The Kings have 70 points and is now tied with Calgary for sixth place in the conference standings. Dallas, meanwhile, held on to the fifth playoff position. Cristobal Huet made 26 saves for the Kings, who are 2-0-1 in their last three and earned a point for the 21st time in their last 25 games (8-4-10-3). Alexander Frolov scored with just under six minutes remaining in the third period to help LA salvage the point. The Stars were clinging to a 1-0 lead when Frolov moved into the Dallas zone with a 2-on-1 break. Frolov skated through the right circle and beat Marty Turco with a shot to the short side for his 20th goal of the season. Huet finished with nine saves in the third period and turned aside four more in overtime to preserve the deadlock. The Kings open a home-and-home series with the Mighty Ducks at the Staples Center on Saturday. |
