Seattle, WA (My Sportsbook) - The Seattle Mariners agreed to terms on a one-year contract with reliever Shigetoshi Hasegawa on Thursday. Last season for Seattle, Hasegawa compiled an 8-3 record with a 3.20 ERA and one save in 53 appearances. Hasegawa made $1.75 million last season and had a $2 million option for 2003 with a $100,000 buyout. The 34-year-old righthander played six years with the Orix Blue Wave of Japan's Pacific League, before joining the Anaheim Angels in 1997. In five years with the Halos, he went 30-28 with 16 saves and a 3.87 ERA. After his stint in Anaheim, Hasegawa joined the Mariners as a free agent last January.
