Long Beach, CA (My Sportsbook) - Rocketsports Racing announced that it has added a second team to its Champ Car effort for 2004. The team signed 17-year- old Frenchman Nelson Philippe to drive the No.17 Rocketsports/LeasePlan Lola. Philippe, who now makes his home in Key Biscayne, FL, finished ninth in the Barber Dodge Pro Series last year, earning six top-10s in 10 races. "We have followed Nelson's career development," said owner Paul Gentilozzi. "We were impressed by his personality, which fits our team philosophy, and we were glad to be able to sign him." "Paul has an impressive racing record of his own and his professional approach to racing was an important element to me," said Philippe. The first event of the 2004 Champ Car season, the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, is scheduled for Sunday, April 13th.
