Philadelphia, PA (My Sportsbook) - Days before Jeff Carter was set to become a restricted free agent, the center agreed to a new, multi-year contract with the Philadelphia Flyers, general manager Paul Holmgren announced Friday. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. Carter played in 82 games last season, notching 29 goals and 24 assists, all career-highs. The 23-year-old added six goals and 11 points in the postseason and helped Philadelphia reach the Eastern Conference finals for the first time since 2004. The Flyers selected the London, Ontario native with the 11th overall pick in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, and he has 66 goals and 132 points in 225 career games.
