Philadelphia, PA (My Sportsbook) - Philadelphia 76ers forward Glenn Robinson has opted for surgery on his ailing right elbow and will be sidelined indefinitely. Robinson, who has been bothered by right elbow synovitis, will undergo the procedure on Tuesday, March 16. He met with Dr. James Andrews of the Alabama Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Alabama on Monday. The examination revealed bone chips in the elbow. "It's been bothering me for a while and every time it flares up it gets worse and worse," Robinson said. He was deciding between rest and treatment or arthroscopic surgery. The injury has caused Robinson to miss five of the last seven games. He also sat out 15 contests earlier this season with a left ankle sprain and missed the first three contests of the year due to an NBA suspension. In 42 games this season, Robinson is averaging 16.6 points per outing.
