East Rutherford, NJ (My Sportsbook) - The New York Giants waived kicker Mike Hollis on Thursday, but filled the roster spot when the club obtained safety Jack Brewer off waivers from the Minnesota Vikings. Hollis never played a game for the Giants. After he signed with New York in April 2003, a back injury during training camp landed him on injured reserve prior to the start of last season. The 31-year-old Hollis had played seven years for the Jacksonville Jaguars and started all but four games during his tenure with the club. He then played for Buffalo in 2002. In 124 career games, Hollis is 200-for-250 on field goal attempts (80 percent) and has missed just three extra-point tries in his entire pro career (279-for-282). Brewer will enter his third NFL season in 2004 after spending his first two years in Minnesota. In two campaigns, mostly as a special teams player, he has intercepted two passes and also has a blocked punt.
