Phoenix Suns play the third of a four- game road trip tonight, as they visit the
New Orleans Hornets at New Orleans Arena.
The Hornets are in fourth place in the Eastern Conference playoff race, 1 1/2 games ahead of the Milwaukee Bucks.
This is the second and final meeting of the season between the two squads. On December 11th, the Hornets defeated the Suns, 111-101, at America West Arena.
Phoenix is 1-1 on its The Suns lost to the Philadelphia 76ers, 99-94, on Wednesday at the Wachovia Center. Joe Johnson poured in a game-high 27 points, while Shawn Marion and Amare Stoudemire had 24 points apiece for the Suns. Phoenix, which was outscored 32-18 in the fourth quarter, had its two-game win streak halted.
Johnson has scored in double digits in 34 straight games. He has averaged 20.8 points in his last 10 contests.
Phoenix is 4-11 in Friday games this season. The Suns are a dismal 9-27 on the road.
New Orleans comes into tonight's game off a bad loss, as the Hornets fell to the lowly Atlanta Hawks, 84-76, at Philips Arena.
David Wesley scored 12 of his 16 points in the first quarter for the Hornets, who have dropped three of their last four. Jamaal Magloire ended with 12 points and 12 boards in the loss.
Hornets All-Star guard Baron Davis was with the team but did not dress for the game due to a left ankle injury. He is also expected to miss tonight's game.
New Orleans is 24-14 as the host this season.
The Hornets have won five straight over the Suns after losing the last two meetings. Phoenix has lost two straight and seven of its last eight at the Hornets.
