Minneapolis, MN (My Sportsbook) - Minnesota Timberwolves swingman Wally Szczerbiak started Thursday's 114-110 win over the Milwaukee Bucks and scored 19 points in 35 minutes of action. Szczerbiak had missed the past 11 games (including six pre-season) due to a dislocated fifth metatarsal bone in his left foot suffered October 8 against the Bucks. On October 31, the Timberwolves signed Szczerbiak to a six-year contract extension, through the 2008-09 season. Szczerbiak had a streak of 196 consecutive starts broken when he missed the season-opener against Denver. Szczerbiak is coming off a season in which he averaged a career-high 18.7 points per game and earned his first All-Star Game appearance. He also shot a career-high 45.5 percent from three-point range, placing fourth in the league During his first three seasons, Szczerbiak has posted averages of 14.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists. Minnesota originally selected Szczerbiak out of Miami-Ohio with the sixth overall pick in the 1999 NBA Draft.
