Atlanta, GA (My Sportsbook) - Atlanta Braves pitching coach Leo Mazzone has re-signed with the Braves, according to a published report. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported on Friday that Mazzone received a significant raise over the roughly $200,000 he made this year when he re- signed on Thursday, according to uncited sources. Atlanta pitchers have ranked first or second in the majors in earned run average every season under Mazzone since 1992. "I think everybody here is comfortable with Leo," Braves starter Kevin Millwood told the paper. "He's done a great job here, and everybody knows what to expect from him. You don't have to worry about getting used to a new guy. I think everybody will be pleased to see him back." The New York Mets had reportedly expressed interest in Mazzone, whose contract had expired at the end of the season. "Forget it," Mazzone told the paper. "I'm an Atlanta Brave. I'm very pleased with what I got here. They were very fair. I'm pleased with everything."
